Q: Can I contact other artists on Modus Ingenium, or is there a forum I can use for this?
A: No, but there are many other very good alternatives for forum and interchange activity online. Our focus is purely professional and we respect the privacy of our clients.
Q: What is the cost, and how is it split up?
A: Current cost is 50usd, and it is made up by two parts, the account itself, and the grading process. Each account lasts for one year, and has to be renewed each year.
Q: Why are there two grading scales?
A: In our long experience we have seen that even talented people do not always have the technical prowess to use their talent to its maximum, and the opposite is also true, a technically proficient artist, might not be a very creative individual. Neither means that they are not valuable, but it is easier to find out where they would be most beneficial, when you know the mix between Creative skills and Technical skills.
Q: Why is there a minimum cap on the grading?
A: In each of the disciplines this cap is what is considered the "Entry Level", i.e. the required skill level for a position in this field/discipline. Keep in mind that the cap is set at a very reasonable level.
Q: What happens if my total score is under the cap?
A: It means that you will be exempt for the time being from database searches. Please, refer to the "Disciplines" for the minimum grade for each discipline.
Q: Isn't this unfair?
A: We encourage the development of all the talent, in both the technical and creative areas. In order to do this, we need to be honest about where you stand at present, and also give credit where credit is due as well, and don't water down those who are truly gifted. As a Modus Ingenium account holder, you can request a re-grading at any time on newly submitted works.
Q: Can I change my uploaded images/videos after the grading is completed?
A: No, this would defeat the purpose of the grading process as the two are linked. You can request a re-grade and submit new works.
Q: Are there any rules regarding submitted art works, formats, sizes, memory restrictions?
A: Yes, these will be outlined in an email that you will receive upon becoming a new member. Also, please refer to the "File requirements" for these details.
Q: Can I request Modus Ingenium to modify my uploaded material?
A: Generally this will be declined. Modification to uploaded material may be granted only if there is a format system error or another clear technical failure, that may have affected the work.
Q: Can I have more than one account, multiple disciplines?
A: Of course, many artists are fluent in more than one field, and sometimes it warrants a separation. For instance a 3d modeler might be a fantastic photographer as well.
This will also increase the chances for employers in those fields to get a look at your talent.
